Public Transport
Trains
The nearest train station to Penhale Caravan and Camping Park is two and a half miles away in Par. Travelling by train in Cornwall is a great way to avoid the summer traffic and see the beautiful countryside. There are some charming little stations, such as Bodmin Parkway and Looe.
Par railway station connects the main line with the line to Newquay. Truro is also a surprisingly short journey by train from Par, avoiding any traffic or parking worries. Or change at Liskeard for the picturesque line to Looe.
The small car park at Par station is free of charge.

Buses
First Travel operates the bus service between Fowey and St Austell. From St Austell bus station you can then hook up with other bus services in the area. The bus station in St Austell is also right beside the train station.
The Fowey to St Austell bus service, the number 25, does not drive right past the entrance of Penhale, but stops at the Four Turnings roundabout half a mile away, where there is a bus stop. From here you can either get the bus to take you down into Fowey or to St Austell.
To find out details about current timetables you can contact First or Traveline.

There is a also a Fowey town mini bus, which will pick you up from the main car park on Hanson Drive at the top of Fowey, give you a lift down to the middle of town and then return you to the car park later. It runs daily, with reduced hours out of peak season.
During the busy summer season in 2009 the Fowey town bus also ran a service up the hill out of Fowey to the Four Turnings roundabout and on past Penhale Caravan Park to the turning for Polkerris beach. Then, down to Par Beach and back again. We hope this service was of use to some of our visitors. Maybe if this service continues in 2010 we can enquire about the possibility of the Fowey Town Bus stopping outside Penhale Park. Watch this space!
